How many photos do I need to make a photo mosaic?
We recommend that you have at least 20 pictures to include in your photo mosaic. However, some photo mosaics have been made with as few as 10 pictures and still look great. On the other hand, if you have more than 20 pictures, we recommend you submit as many as possible, up to a few hundred.

What is the maximum number of photos I can submit?
The maximum number of photos you can submit depends on the size of your mosaic. For an 8x10 the maximum amount of photos is 400, for an 11x14 the maximum is 800, for a 12x18 the maximum is 1200, for a 16x20 the maximum is 1500, for a 20x30 the maximum is 2000, and for a 24x36 the maximum is 2400. Even though more photos are preferred, many people only submit 30-50 photos and the photo mosaics still turn out great.

How should my cell photos be cropped?
Please crop your cell photos to a landscape(horizontal) 3x4 aspect ratio. You can upload cell photos that are not in a landscape 3x4 aspect ratio, but when we crop them, important details may be cut out of the picture. View more tips for selecting cell photos.

What works best as a background photo?
Pictures that are bright, have fewer subjects, and have a large contrast between the background and the subjects work best for the background photo. If this sounds confusing, here's our simple recommendation: We recommend you try your favorite image as the background photo and if you are not completely happy with the results, you can always change it once we show you your digital preview.
